Since 2020, Yasser Lotfy has been gaining hands-on experience in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. With a multicultural background and exposure to diverse entrepreneurial environments, he is passionate about supporting founders and innovation. Yasser has held roles at Sunny Side Venture Partners, KfW Capital, and GreenTec Capital Partners, and is an alumnus of Dream VC, a leading venture capital fellowship program.

Passionate about supporting great ideas that drive innovation and sustainable growth, Samar is a trilingual investment professional with experience in private equity and venture capital across the MENA region. She previously worked at Smart Capital, where she supported SME-focused investments backed by the World Bank through Tunisia’s Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and contributed to a financing initiative led by GIZ in partnership with key Tunisian ministries. More recently, Samar worked with Silicon Valley startups on fundraising and market entry strategies within the Saudi Arabian market.

She is an alumnus of the African Private Equity Fellowship by Proparco and has passed the CFA Level I exam. Samar also holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from Tunis Business School, with a focus on Finance and IT.

With a global investment portfolio and over 30 years of experience in both the private and public sectors, Mohamed ALTAWASH has built companies from formation to scaling and exit. His success has led to stock market entries through IPOs on the Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi stock exchanges in multiple successful cases. Besides his work with a main regional sovereign fund, Mohamed also runs a wealth management firm based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with international reach, providing alternative investment vehicles in real estate, private equity, and venture capital.

A seasoned Compliance and Financial Crime professional with over 16 years of experience across regulatory authorities, international banks, and financial institutions. He serves as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), leading the firm’s AML/CFT compliance framework and regulatory engagement. His expertise spans AML/CFT, sanctions compliance, KYC/CDD/EDD, financial crime risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk assessments. Throughout his career, he has successfully designed and enhanced compliance frameworks, managed regulatory inspections, and advised senior management and boards on financial crime risk. He has extensive experience working with regulators and implementing international best practices aligned with FATF standards. Shamwail holds internationally recognized certifications including CAMS, CFCS, CFE, CGSS, and CISI, reflecting his commitment to excellence in compliance and financial crime prevention. He is passionate about building strong governance frameworks that enable innovation while maintaining the highest regulatory standards.
